The Outdoor Education Advisers’ Panel (OEAP) produces National Guidance, which provides comprehensive support for the management of high-quality outdoor learning, educational visits and adventurous activities.

Part of the monitoring process

Both the above are designed to be used alongside OEAP National Guidance document 3.3e Checklist – Visit Leader and it is suggested that the checklist is completed as part of the monitoring process, and that it is used as a prompt during the observation.

Examples of what to consider during the observation include:-

  • Planning and Preparation
  • Group Management and Supervision
  • Health and Safety
  • Educational Quality (including environmental impact; inclusion, equality & diversity; special needs & disabilities; catering; accommodation).

For general guidance on monitoring, see OEAP National Guidance document 3.2b “Monitoring”.

The downloads also contains direct links a variety of other supporting OEAP National Guidance documents.
